As an educator my desire is to make learning: holistic, creative, rich and meaningful. My classroom is warm , safe and exciting place where students often experience a: giggle, song and dance. I believe it is important to foster self confidence, self belief and a natural curiosity of the world around us. I encourage my students to be deep thinkers who can be autonomous and collaborative in their education.I involve students in curriculum design and provide opportunities for students to direct their own learning with all activities being student centred. I encourage democratic problem based learning with an enquiry approach. I am explicit with students about my assessment and students know exactly what they need to do to get a better result. I believe in high expectations, standards and constant feedback as an integral part of each session. I love providing rich, authentic learning experiences to wow students and to get them asking "can we do it again". I value my passion for helping the community, and the less fortunate. I encourage my students to have the freedom to do the same. I encourage students to value their intellect by valuing each students in put in my class. I use interesting language to model a love for literacy, history, , culture and LOTE to students. I share my real life mathematical finance challenges to show that lifelong learning is of great benefit to us all.My greatest satisfaction as a teacher comes from seeing my students transform into creative, innovative thinkers who can impact the world for a brighter future for us all.
